The rear diffuser on the Ferrari 430 plays a very important role in helping channel air under the car, reducing lift, and effectively increasing rear downforce. Ferrari has done an excellent job of designing and testing the factory part so any change in its overall design would simply be futile. Some aspects of the original part that certainly can be improved on are it's hefty weight and not-so-appealing "plastic-like" finish. In reality, the part is made from a very heavy fiberglass composite that could easily benefit from a bit of dieting. Werks1 has used their expertise in carbon fiber to duplicate the original Ferrari part with one major difference. Instead of using heavy fiberglass, they've made the part from 100% pre-impregnated carbon fiber, reducing weight by over 75% versus the original part. As an added benefit, the Werks1 part is finished a beautiful glossy clearcoat that shows off every angle of the perfect carbon fiber weave. The Werks1 diffuser attached to factory mounting points and requires no modification whatsoever to complete installation.
