The Porsche PDK transmission represents the pinnacle of dual-clutch semi-automatic gearbox technology which can be traced back to mid 1980's Porsce Le Mans race cars. Now available in nearly every model in the Porsche lineup, the PDK is capable of executing gear shifts faster and more accurately then both the traditional manual as well the outgoing Tiptronic transmissions.
One thing not available in several models equipped with the PDK transmission is a functional paddle shifting system mounted to the rear of the steering wheel. Instead, Porsche opted for a pair of awkwardly placed buttons on the front of the steering wheel to control shifts. Champion Motorsport has developed a solution that eliminates the clumsy buttons and replaces them with properly placed paddles on the rear of the wheel, individually controlling both up and down shifts. This allows the driver to keep their hands in an optimal driving position and firmly gripped on the steering wheel. It also reduces the the chances of unintended shifts during cornering.
All Champion Motorsport PDK paddle shifter conversions must be completed in-house at our facility. Prior to return shipping, each steering wheel is tested on our functional test-bench to insure proper operation.
